  • Jackie

    Instructor

Jackie is a Certified Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body and has been teaching since 2010. She discovered a love for Pilates while attending the University of Illinois, but her love grew stronger while using it to rehabilitate a shoulder injury a few years later. Pilates’ ability to improve posture, tone and strengthen muscles, and alleviate back and joint pain has kept her passionate about this form of movement. She has had the opportunity to train with many esteemed instructors, including Lolita San Miguel, Tom McCook, Cara Reeser, Troy McCarty, Karen Clippinger, and Erin Myers. Jackie believes in Pilates’ principles for rehabilitation as well as total body conditioning. She has worked with individuals of all ages, including those with scoliosis and pre- and post-natal women. She and her husband live in Hendersonville and have two children. She serves on the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center Ambassador team and in her free time enjoys baking, tennis, skiing, running, and being on the lake.

  • Miriam

    Instructor

Miriam started acting and dancing as a child in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her love for dance led her to pursue it as a career. She graduated from Centro de Dança Rio where she studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, and Brazilian Folk, and was also part of their Jazz Dance Company. In Brazil, she worked as a professional dancer with a variety of dance groups and on TV shows. While performing and studying Social Communication in college, Miriam auditioned for Feld Entertainment, envisioning an opportunity to take her career to an international level and to improve her English skills while touring the United States. She performed with Ringling Brothers from 2000 to 2003, where she met her husband and the father of their two adorable daughters. When the couple left the show, they decided to move to Nashville. He worked in the music industry, and she taught Ballroom dancing and competed in multiple styles and categories. Years of dancing and traveling started to take a toll on Miriam's body, which is when she turned to Pilates as a therapeutical method to help strengthen it. She earned her first Instructor certification from Peak Pilates in 2010 and earned her final level from Peak Pilates in 2015. As a wife and mother of two little girls, she knows what it means to maintain a high energy level and a strong mind-body connection. For Miriam, Pilates evolved from a therapeutical tool into love and a lifelong passion. Her Pilates philosophy is congruent with modern neuroscience teachings that define the connection of mind and body as essential--not only for physical health, but also for emotional and psychological health. Miriam has been teaching for Club Pilates since March 2017. She is eager to share the benefits of Pilates with all of you!

  • Natasha

    Instructor

Throughout the ups and downs of nearly 20 years in the restaurant industry, Natasha has always been an avid group fitness participant, due to its physical and mental health benefits. Exercise has always been a huge mood booster for her, helping her feel balanced and less stressed. In 2017, Tasha was looking for a big change in her life and career. She desired surrounding herself with positive, uplifting people in a healthy environment where she could influence and help those around her feel successful in their own fitness goals. Tasha loves the energy of moving and connecting with people and the sense of community that inevitably blooms. She loves the encouragement she finds when she walks into a place of support, where she’s sometimes asked to step out of her comfort zone and discover growth. That's what she found when she joined the team at Club Pilates in 2017. Starting in sales, she quickly enrolled in Club Pilates' 500-hour comprehensive Teacher Training and completed her certification in 2018. Pilates has given her strength, a newfound love of fitness, and she wants to share the love! Originally from North Eastern Pennsylvania, Tasha has lived in Nashville since 1999. She’s married and has three beautiful daughters and three adorable dogs. She’s thrilled to be part of the team and is looking forward to getting to know you!

  • Shana

    Lead Instructor

Shana’s background is in the arts. She took pottery classes with her mom as a young girl and has taken music lessons most of her life. She became passionate about fitness as a teenager though cycling, various sports, and resistance training. She started the music program at Belmont, but her love of most creative mediums led her to pursue art. In 2003 she earned her BFA from Austin Peay State University in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics. After graduating, she took her first Pilates class and was instantly hooked! She loved how it challenged her physically, the focus required to do it effectively, and the mind-body connection developed from practicing it consistently. Pilates required her to focus on every element of her body while moving it as one integrated unit. It kicked her butt and she loved it! Learning her abilities and her challenges is what keeps her a lifelong student. There is always more to learn and another difficulty level to work toward. As a wife and mother, she knew she found a perfect exercise for longevity. Pilates helped her stay strong through the birth of both of her daughters and has helped with the much harder task of keeping up with them as they grow. Shana earned her first certification to teach from STOTT Pilates in 2007 and began teaching in Hendersonville. She completed her comprehensive training in 2013 and has had the opportunity to learn from fantastic instructor trainers at licensed training centers in Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, and Nashville. Shana continues to learn and add to her knowledge of Pilates, having had training in injuries, special populations, and pre- and post-natal Pilates. Helping clients gain strength through Pilates is what keeps Shana excited to teach. Her teaching capabilities range from post-rehab conditioning to an intense total-body workout, varying programming and surprising muscles every chance she gets!

  • Joseph

    Instructor

Joseph discovered Pilates while living in Seoul, South Korea after reading the classic "Return to Life Through Contrology" by Joseph Pilates. Strength, flexibility, and stamina are core elements to fitness. The Pilates method combines precise muscle control with spine strength and flexibility during a full-body workout.  Joseph believes, like Joseph Pilates once said, "fitness is the first requisite of happiness."  With a degree in game design, Joseph aims to make exercise fun while motivating you to level up your health and well-being. Joseph is thrilled to be teaching at Club Pilates. As a certified contemporary instructor from Well-Body Pilates, his vision is to teach the method in the most efficient way for the student's body. Through dedication to the classic principles, the practice will center the mind, balance the body, and strengthen the core. Joseph looks forward to seeing you in the studio!

  • Krissie

    Instructor

Krissie first came to Pilates strictly for a fitness routine. She had been active in dance and sports when she was younger, but working a desk job for several years, driving around in Los Angeles traffic, and trying to squeeze in a run now and then became routine and rough on her body. Krissie started integrating Pilates along with other fitness classes into her schedule. She found that Pilates was the only exercise she didn’t get bored with, and her body felt so much better after each class. She loved learning the reason and science behind the movements, and the idea of helping people live their lives without pain! Krissie decided to become a Pilates instructor when she moved to Nashville in June of 2018 and enrolled in Club Pilates’ 500-hour comprehensive Teacher Training program. Krissie instructs at Indian Lake, Belle Meade, North Gulch, and Maryland Farms and will also be teaching at our newest studio, Cool Springs (opening November 2019)!

  • Carly

    Instructor

Carly first discovered her love for Pilates in 2009 while attending Loyola Marymount University. During her time as an undergraduate in the dance program, Carly regularly frequented the on-campus Pilates studio that was only available to those in her department. While doing so, she soon learned how important the modality was for her body and her dance training. With the combination of Pilates and her dance technique classes, Carly gained strength and length in her muscles and increased her flexibility, and she knew Pilates was something she could never live without. After graduating from LMU in three years, Carly got a job with a touring dance company, Tremaine Dance Conventions. While touring, Carly found time to take Pilates classes at various studios in Los Angeles, but it wasn't until her first class at Club Pilates Villa Park in October 2015, that she knew she wanted to take her passion for Pilates a step further. Soon after her awesome experience at Club Pilates, Carly quit her job on tour and enrolled in the Club Pilates 500-hour teacher training program in January 2016. Carly completed the program in just three months and began her teaching career March 2016. As the years progressed, Carly taught at three Club Pilates studios in Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as two studios in Colorado. In August 2017, Carly moved to New York City where she worked as a Pilates Manager for Equinox, where she focused her Pilates training on teaching private sessions and running the Pilates department. After a year in NYC, Carly realized that the busy city life wasn’t for her. Knowing she always wanted to live in Nashville, Carly made the life-changing decision to move to here. She is thrilled to be in Nashville and is excited to continue teaching and sharing her love for Pilates!

  • Kayce V

    Instructor

A life-long fitness enthusiast, Kayce was drawn to Pilates after knee and back injuries from running and high-impact fitness classes. It only took her a few sessions on the reformer to realize that Pilates is the exercise that would keep her body healthy and strong, while being gentle and rehabilitative. When Kayce realized that Pilates was the exercise program accessible to everybody, she immediately wanted to pursue the practice of Pilates but also the instruction, so she could share the benefits she had experienced with others. Kayce decided on Club Pilates’ 500-hour comprehensive certification, partly due to Club Pilates’ emphasis on taking the spine in all four directions during each class. This supports her belief that a person is only as young as their spine is healthy. She also believes that a strong core and healthy spine are the keys to longevity and what Members can gain at Club Pilates. Kayce is a native of Murfreesboro and mother of six. She has been an Instructor in the fitness industry for over 30 years and holds personal training and group fitness certifications with AEA, ACE, and AFAA. She holds a 200 RYT certification with Nadi Sakti Yoga and is completing her 300 Hour RYT Yoga certification with YogaFit. Kayce completed her comprehensive Club Pilates Instructor Certification in February 2017. She also holds a 24-hour level I Core Align Certification with Balanced Body and two Barre Above certifications, the second with a Pilates emphasis. Kayce teaches at Club Pilates Maryland Farms, North Gulch, Belle Meade, and Indian Lake. She teaches group classes and offers private training. She looks forward to seeing you in the studio!

  • Shelly

    Instructor

I am a wife and mother of two teenager sons. Exercise has always been a big part of my life. I was a gymnast as a child, a diver as a teenager and an aerobics enthusiast in college. In my late 20’s, with the help of my husband, I successfully completed numerous marathons. I have continued to run into my 40’s, but tennis has become my sport of choice. I started doing Pilates because I developed dyastasis after giving birth to our youngest son in 2003. Dyastasis is the separation of your abdominal muscles. Pilates helped close my dyastasis from 4 inches to 1/4 of an inch in a 6 month period. I was so impressed with the results not only how Pilates helped my dyastasis, but also it improved my strength and flexibility. I was certified by Power Pilates in 2004 to teach beginner and intermediate mat classes. I then became certified comprehensively by Peak Pilates on the highest level on all equipment in 2010. The last 14 years I have been training classically with Sonje Mayo. Sonje trained with the Joseph Pilates when she danced professionally in Martha Graham’s School, and has over 40 years of training experience. I have been teaching Pilates for almost 13 years in my home and client’s studios. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge of Pilates with my clients. Pilates is a non-impact system of exercises that anyone can do using special apparatus designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and enhance mental awareness. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you!

  • Kayce S

Kayce has an extensive background in athletics. It began with a competitive gymnastics career spanning 10 years, during which she held multiple state championship titles. Through high school, she won a national championship as a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. After earning a B.B.A. in Marketing Management and Advertising, she returned home to Hendersonville where she became an avid wakeboarder. Her competitive nature soon emerged, taking her to the top of the World Championships podium in 2004. In 2009, she became the head coach for the Mexico National Wakeboard Team, and after five years of living abroad teaching surfing, wakeboarding, and stand up paddle boarding, she was introduced to Pilates. Kayce became a member of Club Pilates after hiking the Appalachian Trail and elected to pursue a comprehensive teacher training certification in 2017. She has endured a long list of injuries throughout her many pursuits and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis over twenty years ago. For her, Pilates is the best remedy for the arthritic pain she has endured and helps her to maintain the strength and mobility required to enjoy her lifestyle and adventures. Professionally, Kayce practices disability law, but chooses to teach Pilates because she is passionate about natural healing. Her greatest joy comes from witnessing the rehabilitation, recovery of function, and improved health that Pilates brings to our Members.

  • Maranda

    Instructor

Maranda loves to move and to challenge her mind and body. Born and raised in Muncie, Indiana, she was heavily involved in dance and gymnastics from age eight until graduating high school. In 2009, Maranda decided to continue her passion for dance at Ball State University, where she received a B.S. in Dance Performance with a Sports Medicine minor. Being active growing up, she was intrigued with how the body moved and worked. Having several injuries from gymnastics, Maranda enjoyed learning how to heal her body. In 2010, while studying at Ball State, she was introduced to Pilates. In just one semester, she noticed a difference in her strength and awareness and an improvement in her dancing. She knew she wanted to continue Pilates. In 2015, while living in Chicago, Maranda finally decided to take her love for Pilates a step further and signed up for the BASI Pilates Comprehensive Program. Maranda has been teaching dance since 2010 and Pilates since 2015. She loves to share her love for Pilates with her dance students so that they can discover the same benefits from Pilates as she did. Maranda wants to be able to help our Members find their own body awareness to reach whatever their goals may be. Understanding how our bodies move and learning how to make connections within our body can help us find balance within our mind and body to feel great! She teaches group classes and is available for private training. Maranda and her husband moved to Nashville from Chicago in January 2019, and they are enjoying the nice weather and change of scenery.
